About prohibited act in designated place

In accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of the Yokohama City Fire Prevention Ordinance (December 1973, Yokohama City Ordinance No. 70), theaters and department stores, "smoking", "use of open flames" and "carrying dangerous goods for fire prevention" Restriction ".

Prohibited use and designated locations

According to the "place designated by the fire chief in accordance with the provisions of Article 28, Paragraph 1 of the Yokohama City Fire Prevention Ordinance" (the City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau Notification No. 3 of June 1992), prohibited use and designated places are defined as follows.

  1. Stage or audience seats of theaters, movie theaters or theaters
  2. Stage or seats of the viewing hall (excluding outdoor seats and all floors are made of non-combustible materials for smoking)
  3. Stage or audience seats of public hall or meeting place (excluding seats with non-combustible butts containers for smoking)
  4. Department stores, markets and other stores or exhibition halls that sell goods (with a total floor area used for the purpose is 1,000 square meters or more) that sells goods, exhibition parts, or parts where customers usually enter and exit (for smoking, dining room) Excludes places with non-combustible butts containers.)
  5. Sales floor or exhibition area of underground shopping malls
  6. Designated as Important Cultural Properties, Important Tangible Folk Cultural Properties, Historic Sites or Important Cultural Properties under the provisions of the Cultural Property Protection Act (Act No. 214 of 1950), or the Act on the Preservation of Old Important Art, etc. (In open flames, facilities and equipment that use fire used on a daily basis and those used for religious events, etc.) Excluding places.)
  7. Stages of cabarets, nightclubs, dance halls or restaurants (with a total floor area of 1,000 square meters or more for the use)
  8. Parts where entertainment is held at inns, hotels or accommodations (excluding places used for meetings, banquets, etc., excluding non-combustible butts containers with non-combustible butts containers)
  9. The part where a set for shooting of a movie studio or TV studio is provided
  10. Part to be used for parking in indoor parking lots with a capacity of 50 or more
  11. Fire protection objects listed in Appendix 1 (excluding fire prevention objects listed in each paragraph (17) to (20)) listed in Appendix 1 of the Fire Services Act Enforcement Ordinance (Government Ordinance No. 37 of 1961) Part to be used for traffic where the length of the part to be provided is 50 meters or more

Prohibited acts

In principle, the following acts are prohibited at designated locations:


  • Smoking
    This refers to a series of actions that are ignited and smoke with a match or lighter. In addition to the conventional assumed cigarettes, smoking also includes the act of using heated tobacco.
  • Open flame
    Refers to "flame", "sparks" and "things that use the heat part exposed to the outside".
  • Dangerous goods for fire prevention
    It is a high risk of causing a fire or spreading the fire, and stipulated in Article 11 of the Yokohama City Fire Prevention Regulations (March 1974 Yokohama City Regulations No. 23, 1974) Article 11. Goods ”.
