To those involved in buildings that have gas-based fire extinguishing equipment such as inert gas fire extinguishing equipment and halogenide fire extinguishing equipment are installed.
On April 15, 2021, there was an accident in which multiple people were killed or injured due to an accidental release of a fire extinguisher (carbon dioxide) from an inert gas fire extinguishing system at a mechanical parking lot of an apartment house in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo. Accidents caused by inert gas fire extinguishing equipment also occurred in Nagoya City in December 2020 and Minato-ku, Tokyo in January 2021.
In order to prevent such accidents, buildings that have gas-based fire extinguishing equipment such as inert gas fire extinguishing equipment and halogenide fire extinguishing equipment, such as inert gas fire extinguishing equipment and halogenide fire extinguishing equipment are installed. We ask that all construction companies engaged in "inspection and maintenance companies such as firefighting equipment".

1 To all persons involved in the building (employees, security guards, etc.)
・ Except in the case of a fire, do not touch the manual boot device for fire extinguishing gas.
・ If you accidentally open the operation door of the manual startup device and the sound alarm device is activated, close the door and ask an inspection contractor to confirm that it has been restored.
・ If the sound alarm device is activated to indicate that the fire extinguishing gas is erupted, immediately evacuate outside the protective area.
・ If an acoustic alarm device is activated, if there is a building user in or around the protective area where the fire extinguishing gas is erupted, prompt them to evacuate immediately and approach the protective block. Please let us know.
・ Even if you press the manual starter for fire extinguishing gas discharge, you can stop the release of the fire extinguishing gas by pressing the stop switch in the manual startup device within a predetermined time (*).
※ If it emits carbon dioxide gas, it is set not to be released for at least 20 seconds.
・ If any abnormalities are found in the gas fire extinguishing equipment, contact an inspection company immediately.
2 To construction companies engaged in building maintenance and management work
・ Gas fire extinguishing equipment may be installed in parking lots, electric room, boiler room, communication equipment room, etc.
Be sure to check with the building staff in advance to check the installation status and precautions of fire-fighting equipment.
・ If you have any questions about the handling guidelines and precautions for the installed fire-fighting equipment, be sure to check with the company that inspects the fire-fighting equipment of the building.
・ When performing construction, be sure to inform building officials and users of that fact.
3 To all inspection and maintenance companies for firefighting equipment

・ Please inform the building-related personnel about the functions, handling methods, and how to respond when discharging, etc. of gas-based fire extinguishing equipment, etc., and inform the building-related personnel.
4 When performing construction near a carbon dioxide fire extinguishing system is installed
・ When performing construction inside the parking lot, please close the "closing valve" in the cylinder warehouse in advance.
※Depending on the building, there may be no closing valve.
