For those involved in buildings where gas fire extinguishing equipment such as inert gas fire extinguishing equipment and halogenide fire extinguishing equipment are installed.
On April 15, 2021, at a mechanical parking lot in an apartment house in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, there was an accident in which multiple people were killed or injured due to the accidental release of a fire extinguisher (carbon dioxide) in an inert gas fire extinguishing equipment. Accidents caused by inert gas fire extinguishing equipment also occurred in Nagoya City in December 2020 and in Minato-ku, Tokyo in January 2021.
In order to prevent such accidents, "related persons (employees, security guards, etc.)", "maintenance management work" of buildings where gas fire extinguishing equipment such as inert gas fire extinguishing equipment and halide fire extinguishing equipment are installed In the case of construction companies engaged in work and inspection and maintenance companies for firefighting equipment, etc., please pay close attention to the following items.

1 To all persons involved in the building (employees, security guards, etc.)
・ Except in the event of a fire, do not touch the manual starter for fire extinguishing gas discharge.
・ If you accidentally open the operation door of the manual start-up device and the sound alarm device is activated, close the door and ask an inspection company to confirm that it has been restored.
・ If the sound alarm device is activated to indicate that fire extinguishing gas is erupted, evacuate immediately outside the protective area.
・ If there is a building user in or around the protective compartment where the fire extinguishing gas is erupted when the sound alarm device that the fire extinguishing gas is erupted, encourage them to evacuate immediately and stay close to the protective compartment. Please let us know.
・ Even if you press the manual starter for fire extinguishing gas discharge, you can stop the fire extinguishing gas release by pressing the stop switch in the manual starter within a predetermined time (*).
※ For those that emit carbon dioxide gas, it is set not to be released for a minimum of 20 seconds.
・ If any abnormality is confirmed in the gas fire extinguishing equipment, contact an inspection company immediately.
2 To construction companies engaged in the maintenance and management of buildings
・ Gas-based fire extinguishing equipment may be installed in parking lots, electric rooms, boiler rooms, communication equipment rooms, etc.
Be sure to check with the building staff in advance to check the installation status of fire-fighting equipment and precautions.
・ If you have any questions about the handling guidelines and precautions for the installed fire-fighting equipment, be sure to check with the company that inspects the fire-fighting equipment of the building.
・ When performing construction, be sure to inform the building officials and users of that fact.
3 To inspection and maintenance companies for fire-fighting equipment, etc.

4 When construction is performed near where carbon dioxide fire extinguishing equipment is installed
・ When performing construction etc. inside the parking lot, please close the "closed valve for inspection" in the cylinder in advance.
