We visited the Sekiya House, a nationally designated important cultural property.
We visited "Seki Family Residence" in Kachidacho. It is the only old private house in the city that has been designated as a national important cultural property. The site is usually closed to the private house (because it is a private house), but with the guidance of the 23rd generation Atsumi Seki, we saw the front gate-main building-shoin and garden.
The Seki family served Odawara Hojo during the Warring States period, became the master of Kachidacho from the beginning of the Edo period. In the late Edo period, he also served as a deputy representative, calling the brand name "Odaikan".
The main building was built in the first half of the 17th century, which is considered to be the oldest in eastern Japan, and has four floors with four rooms on the left side of the dirt floor. Was. It is said that a large-scale repair by the national treasury subsidy project conducted in 2014-17, revived at the time of construction and will be preserved in its current form.
In addition, Shoin was built in the first half of the 18th century as a resting place for falconry by Iemitsu Tokugawa, the third shogun of the Edo Shogunate, and we saw a valuable product called lunch box of Iemitsu, which has been preserved and inherited. .
In addition, we also introduced a beautiful garden with autumn leaves and a rare thatched two-story front gate and Nagayamon. I spent a valuable time as if I had traveled a time, and I was filled with gratitude to the local history, the traditional culture inherited, and the local people who have protected them.
