[58th] Kamoi Hayashirenchu (Kamoi Local Performing Arts Preservation Society) has been certified as a "Yokohama City Intangible Folk Cultural Property Protection Organization"!

Kamoi Hayashirenchu (representative: Mitsuru Yanagishita) was certified as a "Yokohama City Intangible Folk Cultural Property Protection Organization" this year.

On March 27, we visited the performance of the show, co-hosted by the Kamoi Union Neighborhood Association (Chairman: Take Kimura).

Recently, I feel that there are fewer opportunities to enjoy performances and dances directly, but Kamoi Hayashi has a history of nearly 200 years. It is said to have originated in the Tenpo era of the Edo period, and has been handed down to the present day.

During that time, I heard that there were various difficulties, such as nurturing successors, but they are steadily being protected and raised here in Kamoi. Members were elementary school students, and they performed light drums and dances. Some of those who started from elementary school students are now university students and are continuing their activities.

During the New Year's Day, we go around each family in the town with lion dance, and entertain us at various events such as Kamoi's Setsubun Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, Keirokai, Welfare Festival, and Residents' Festival.

I hope that this Kamoi music will be handed down in the land of Kamoi for a long time. I look forward to seeing you all of the Kamoi musicians.
