[19th session] September is Keiro Month!

September 10, 2021

Last update date September 14, 2021

September is the Keiro Month, which celebrates the longevity of the elderly who have contributed to society for many years.
In Midori Ward, 33 people will be 100 years old, and a total of 101 people over 100 years old. It is the number of people who can feel the age of 100 years of life.

The oldest person in the ward is Hisao Ikeda, who was born in 1912 and will be 109 years old this year, and the woman is 107 years old born in 1914 this year.

Ikeda is also the oldest man in the city. He likes painting, and last year he drew a panda picture and donated it to Ueno Zoo. I am sorry that I was unable to visit for two consecutive years due to the COVID-19 pandemic as last year.

In addition, as usual, longevity celebrations are held in many regions in September, but I am sorry that there are few opportunities to meet you due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that the current situation will converge and that the day when you can meet you will come soon.
I would like to express my sincere respect and appreciation to all of you for having been active in Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa.

September 2021 Mayor Midori
