From October 1, "Midori Ward Food Drive Food Collection Box" have been permanently installed at six locations, including four facilities in the city. There is not many examples in the city to have a permanent collection box at such facilities.

Food drive is an activity that brings unused foods and seasonings that cannot be used up in each household and provides them to those who need food.

About 34% of the "burnable garbage" from households in Yokohama are kitchen garbage, of which about half is food loss, such as food and food leftovers.
The amount is about 93,000 tons per year, equivalent to about 25 kilograms per citizen and about 250 rice balls.
On the other hand, we have heard that the number of people in need of living (households) who need food is increasing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to ask for your cooperation in reducing food loss as much as possible from our dietary habits and donate food to Midori Ward Food Drive.

　Those that satisfy all of the following three points:
◆Unopened (not damaged packaging or exterior)
◆Expiration date is specified and has remained for more than 2 months
◆Items that can be stored at room temperature
