Since October 1, Midori Ward Food Drive Food Collection Boxes have been installed at six locations, including four facilities in the city. There is not much example of permanent collection boxes in such facilities in the city.

Food drive is an activity to bring unused foods and seasonings that cannot be used up in each household and provide them to those who need food.

About 34 percent of burnable garbage's homes in Yokohama are kitchen garbage, of which about half are food loss, such as food left untouched or leftovers.
The amount is about 93,000 tons per year, equivalent to about 25 kilograms per citizen and about 250 rice balls.
On the other hand, I have heard that the number of people in need of living (households) who need food is increasing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

◆Unopened (wrapping and exterior are not damaged)
◆The expiration date is specified and remains at least 2 months.
◆Items that can be stored at room temperature
