[47th] We participated in planting Shibazakura on the riverbed of Tsurumi River.

On Friday, March 19, under the refreshing blue sky of spring, Shibazakura by "Midori / River and Wind Association", who regularly cleans and plant flowers around the Tsurumi River near Kamoi Station, I have also participated in planting.
In a part of the riverbed where pebbles and weeds were carefully removed, handmade bamboo retaining walls were installed so that the soil would not be washed away by rain, and I felt the ingenuity. It was my first experience to plant Shibazakura, but with the advice of everyone, I dug a hole on the bank at regular intervals and planted seedlings. It seems that roots and leaves gradually spread from the seedlings planted this time, and I'm looking forward to seeing the moss cherry blossoms that bloom all over.
"The nearby Kamoike Bridge is also used by many people from the Tsuzuki Ward side. I hope you will like Midori Ward by enjoying the shibazakura seen from the bridge. " In the future, it is said that regular mowing, removal of pebbles, and watering will be performed throughout the year. I once again realized that the beautiful scenery that many people can enjoy is created and maintained by the activities of the local people.
The row of cherry blossom trees along the Tsurumi River around Kamoi Station will be in full bloom. Every year, it is full of cherry blossom viewing during the Kamoi Cherry Blossom Festival and dinner, but this year we would like you to refrain from having dinner under cherry blossoms to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Why don't you take a stroll to enjoy the collaboration between cherry blossoms and Shibazakura while taking measures against infectious diseases?
Fiscal 2020 was a year that was greatly affected by COVID-19. Even so, I participated in a variety of activities, starting with rice planting in Tando, harvesting experiences with the help of farmers, citizens' forest protection society activities, and planting Midori Ward this time.
We will continue to work to protect and nurture this affluent environment and to encourage more residents to feel the appeal of Midori Ward.
