[22nd] Thank you for your cooperation with Midori Ward Food Drive

The Midori Ward Food Drive will be held from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 30.

Food drives are activities to bring unused foods and seasonings that cannot be used up in each household and provide them to those who need them.
Food collection boxes will be installed at the Midori Ward Office and Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau Green Office, and the collected food will be provided to local welfare facilities and people in need of food through the Midori Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.

Today is also referred to as the "age of satiety". About 33% of burnable garbage's households in Yokohama are kitchen garbage, of which about half of them are left behind or thrown away without hand. This amount is about 94,000 tons per year. Divided by the population of Yokohama City, it is about 25 kg per person, equivalent to about 250 rice balls.

October is food loss reduction month. We ask for your cooperation in reducing food loss as much as possible from our dietary habits, and if you have any food you can donate to Midori Ward Food Drive.

Foods you want to donate

Those that meet the following three points
(1)　Unopened (wrapping and exterior are not damaged)
(2)　Those with a shelf life of 2 months or more
(3)　Items that can be stored at room temperature
