Last update date June 9, 2020

The state of emergency has been lifted, and as the mayor of Midori Ward, he has participated in Shinji Shimin-no-Mori's "Tando rice planting" as the first regional event as Mayor of Midori.
Every year, it is an event in which many inhabitants of a ward participate, but this time the scale was reduced and only about 30 people concerned.

It was my first time to plant rice, so I seemed to fall down and fall down, but with the guidance of the members of the Tando Field Protection Association, I gradually got used to the feeling of soft soil, I was absorbed in 5 rice fields.

Since the Tando field could not be used, we used a mask for a long time manual work with a mask, so everyone was also careful about heat stroke measures. I felt the hardships of everyone who protected the Tando field, but when I saw the rice fields that had been planted, there was a sense of accomplishment!
I heard that the scarecrow making and autumn rice harvesting in August are also scheduled to participate in the general public, so I'm looking forward to working with you again during the autumn harvest season.

Local activities are gradually reopening. Not only Yokohama City but also Midori Ward will continue to support local activities, so I would like to work with residents and businesses for new everyday life and new lifestyles in the future.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.

June, 2020 Mayor of Midori
