[37th] New Year's Greeting

Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you again this year.
Due to the new coronavirus infection, I think that the inhabitants of the ward have welcomed the new year, which is significantly different from the usual year. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for your understanding and cooperation in preventing the spread of infection, and to the medical care, nursing care, and related parties who have continued to take measures against COVID-19 during the year-end and New Year holidays.
The New Year's tradition, “Midori Ward Fire Fighting First Ceremony,” was not directly shown to you this year, but we decided to consider it in Midori fire department and distribute it as a new initiative on YouTube (Yokohama City Official Channel). We hope that as many people as possible will have a view at a convenient time and feel the preparedness and spirit of firefighters and fire brigade members on a daily basis. It seems that only Midori Ward in the 18 wards of the city delivered the first ceremony from New Year's Day.
I believe that the most important mission of Director General is to ensure that the inhabitants of the ward live healthy, safe and secure, so even residents of the ward should continue to wear masks, wash their hands, and take measures to prevent the spread of infection.
As the ward office will do its best to make this year a healthy and smiling year for everyone, thank you for your continued support.
