Junichi Tsukada, Chairman of the Kirigaoka Union Neighborhood Association, was awarded the Minister of the Environment Award as "Achievement for beautification of the local environment."
Originally, I would receive a certificate of commendation from Minister Koizumi at the Ministry of the Environment, but the award ceremony was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and at the Midori Ward Union Autonomous Presidency held on Thursday, September 17th.
This award is given by the Minister of the Environment for those who have made significant contributions to the beautification of the local environment for many years.
This year, 12 individuals and 48 groups were awarded nationwide. In Yokohama, Chairman Tsukada was the only one who was awarded the individual.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Tsukada has been actively promoting the 3Rs and beautification activities in the local community, and is committed to fostering the awareness of beautification among local residents. In addition to working on cleaning parks and roads, roadside greening, illegal dumping countermeasures, etc., we also hold lectures on plastic issues, and as a local leader, we have greatly contributed to improving the beautification of the local environment.
Mr. Tsukada said, "I am glad that my long-standing activities have been recognized. Encouraged by this award, I would like to continue my activities to beautify the local environment. "
