[17th] Congratulations on the Minister of the Environment's Commendation

Junichi Tsukada, Chairman of the Kirigaoka Union Neighborhood Association, was awarded the Minister of the Environment's Commendation for "Regional Environmental Beautification".
Originally, I received a certificate of commendation from Minister Koizumi at the Ministry of the Environment, but the award ceremony was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I handed it in the form of communication from me at the Midori Ward Union Autonomous Presidency held on Thursday, September 17th.
This award is given by the Minister of the Environment to those who have made outstanding achievements in beautification of the local environment for many years.
This year, 12 individuals were awarded nationwide and 48 groups were awarded. In Yokohama City, the only person who was awarded as an individual was Chairman Tsukada.
For more than 30 years, Chairman Tsukada has been actively promoting the 3Rs and beautifying the local community, and has been working to foster the beautification awareness of local residents. As a local leader, he has greatly contributed to improving the beautification of the local environment, such as cleaning parks and roads, greening roadsides, and measures against illegal dumping, and holding lectures on plastic issues.
Mr. Tsukada said, "I am happy to have been recognized for many years of activities. Encouraged by this award, I would like to continue activities to beautify the local environment in the future. "
