CharacteristicsThe flowering time is from mid-May to mid-June. It was named Satsuki (Satsuki) because the flowers bloom in May of the lunar calendar. It grows naturally in Kanto, Kyushu region and Yakushima. It has long been popular as a bonsai and garden tree, and now it is said that there are more than 1,000 varieties. At present, you can see the blooming satsuki in front of the main building of Environmental Activity Support Center.
