FeaturesThe flowering season is around April, and the fruit grows from late August to November. Japanese pears are sometimes called "butter pears" or "butter fruit" because they have a sticky texture when eaten. Pears can be broadly divided into three types: Chinese pears, Western pears, and Japanese pears, and originally originated in China. "Western pears" have been cultivated in Western Europe since BC, but they came to Japan during the Edo period.
