Japanese name | Sunflower |

scientific name | Helianthusannuus |

Characteristics | It was named sunflower (around the sun) because it turns around as the sun moves. This movement accompanies the growth, so it actually moves following the sun only when you are young. By the time the flower opens, the growth stops and it will not move. Sunflowers are used not only for ornamental purposes, but also for food and oil collection, and are breeded according to their purpose.
