Features | The place of origin is the grassland (Pampas) of South America such as Brazil and Argentina. It came to the middle of the Meiji era and has silver-white spikes, so it was given the Japanese name "Shiraganeyoshi (white silver reed)". At first glance, it looks similar to pampas grass, but it grows to a height of 2-3 m around the flowering season from September to October, so it is powerful. Flower spikes are used not only for ikebana and dried flowers, but also for greening road separation zones. You can see it on the side of the lawn square in Environmental Activity Support Center. |
