Characteristics | The place of origin is Brazil and Argentina and other South American grasslands (Pampass). It came in the middle of the Meiji era and had silver-white spikes, so it was given the Japanese name "Shiroganeyoshi (white silver reed)". At first glance, it looks like pampas grass, but it grows up to 2-3 meters high during the flowering season from September to October, which is powerful. The spikes are used not only for ikebana and dried flowers, but also for greening the road separation zone. In Environmental Activity Support Center you can see it beside the lawn square. |
