Regional Greening Plan and Activities (Yamashita-koen-mae Area)
Last Updated August 13, 2024
Overview of Regional Greening Plan
[Planning name] Green flower town development that conveys the history and culture of the opening of Yokohama Port
[Promotion organization name] Greening Working Group of the Yamashita-koen-mae Association
[Overview of the Plan] (Excerpt from the Regional Greening Plan)
We aim to create a greening activity where you can experience the history and culture of the opening of Yokohama Port while walking around the city.
・With the symbol of "lily", which is a flower of Kanagawa Prefecture and is related to the opening of the port, we will provide a comfortable planting space for visitors with the theme of "Creating a green flower that conveys the history and culture of the opening of Yokohama Port".
・We apply the old Kaigan-dori building and street address, which was once lined with foreign trading houses and hotels, to the present Yamashita-koen-mae, plant flowers and plants related to the nationality of the building at that time, and attach signs to create a place where visitors can interact with seasonal flowers and historical culture.
