Former Yamashita Elementary School Wooden School Building and School Gate

The wooden school building, which remains as the current Yamashita Regional Exchange Center, was built in 1942 during the Yamashita National School of Yokohama City, and was renamed Yokohama City Yamashita Elementary School in 1947. It became a branch school from 1974 (1974), and was closed in March 1986 as the last branch school in Yokohama City. It is the only wooden school building of Yokohama City School that has been used until the end, and is the only existing wooden school building in the middle of the war. In particular, the wooden stairs have been preserved as they were at the time of construction, and the members from the time of construction remain on the skeleton. In addition, the gateposts and gates of the school gate still exist in front of the closed school, leaving the impression of elementary school.
When the Yamashita Elementary School branch school was decided to close down, local residents issued a strong request to leave a wooden school building as a place for exchange.
