About Nenjuzaka
Nenjuzaka is a slope that goes up from Sakashita in Umeda to Sanbo Nenjuzaka Park.
It is one of the ancient roads that runs from Umeda to the old castle temple area or through Sugisawa to Enoki. Standing on Nenjuzaka, you will be attacked by a sense of loneliness.
From the square of Miho Nenjuzaka Park, which is located at the end of the slope, you can see the forest of Shinji and the direction of Tokaichiba.
Until a long time ago, the trees were covered and dark even in the daytime, the cliffs collapsed by the wind and rain, and the feet were exposed to the red clay layer. The gatepost of the park states, "It was a very tight slope, and there was a teahouse on the hill, and it was also called difficult Shibusaka."
Until the new road between Sugiyama Shrine in Miyane (Miho) and Umeda Sakashita was established in 1943, the villagers had to come and go on this narrow and steep slope, and it was very difficult.
