About the ruins of Arakawa Jinya, Oyamamura-dono

In 1590, Hojo Odawara was destroyed by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and Ieyasu Tokugawa entered the Kanto region instead. The following year, in Tensho 19 (1591), Oyama-mura, Tsuzuki-gun, Musashi-kuni (currently Oyamamachi), along with Egasaki-mura, Tachibana-gun (currently Egasaki-cho, Tsurumi-ku), was a vassal of Ieyasu Tokugawa from the Mikawa era. It became a land ruled by the Hagimoto, Chobei Shigeyo Arakawa. Combined with the current intellectual country in Chiba and Saitama prefectures, the land governed by Shigeyo is 850 stones in total.
Shigeyo is said to have set up a Jinya (house) on the banks of the Onda River, which flows through the village, based in Koyamamura. The place where the Jinya was located was divided into north and south due to the renovation of the Onda River in 1963, but you can see the location of the mansion at that time on a monument to pass on to future generations.
