Tsuzuki Ward Town Center Area Barrier-Free Basic Concept

In Yokohama City, based on the Barrier-Free Law, we have formulated a basic concept for promoting barrierTsuzuki Ward Town Center so that everyone, including the elderly, disabled, and those raising children, can move smoothly and use stations and facilities.
In the future, each company will create a business plan based on this basic concept, and will implement the project sequentially.

About Tsuzuki Ward Town Center
The area around Tsuzuki Ward Town Center consists of commercial, business, cultural, and public service functions centered on Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line and Green Line stations.
Details of the study
For the basic barrier-free concept, we established the "Tsuzuki Ward Town Center Neighborhood District Subcommittee" consisting of academics, citizens such as the elderly and disabled, and related businesses and administrative organizations.

1st District Sub-Committee [June 10, 2008]
We introduced the "New Barrier-Free Law" and the "Basic Barrier-Free Basic Concept" and exchanged opinions on the current situation in the area around Tsuzuki Ward Town Center.
The 2nd District Subcommittee [July 24, 2008]
We examined the area of the priority maintenance area and the target routes, and further examined how to proceed with the next “Town Walk Inspection Workshop”.
Call for information on barrier-free [August 20 – November 3, 2008]
We widely solicited information related to barrier-free facilities in the area around Tsuzuki Ward Town Center.
The 3rd District Subcommittee (Town Walk Inspection Workshop) [October 9, 2008]
In addition to the members of the district subcommittee also participated, and after actually checking the site and summarized the issues.
The 4th District Subcommittee [December 16, 2008]
We arranged result of "town walk inspection workshop" and examined problem of district and measures to cope with it.
The 5th District Subcommittee [March 27, 2009]
In response to the issues of the district obtained through the “Town Walk Inspection Workshop” and the countermeasures against it, we examined the basic design draft that compiled the basic design together.
Citizen opinion offer [from June 15, 2009 to July 15]
About Tsuzuki Ward Town Center neighborhood district barrier-free basic design draft, we carried out citizen opinion offer to have opinion from users widely and to reflect in development of barrier-free basic design.
The 6th District Subcommittee [October 27, 2009]
We examined opinion and correspondence obtained by citizen opinion offer and examined basic design original draft based on the result.
