Hodogaya Ward Barrier-Free Basic Concept

Based on the Barrier-Free Law, Yokohama City has formulated a basic concept to promote barrier-free so that everyone, including the elderly, disabled and those raising children, can move smoothly and use stations and facilities in Hodogaya Ward.
In the future, each company will create a business plan based on this basic concept and carry out the project sequentially.

About the area around Hoshikawa Station, Tennocho Station, Hodogaya Station

The area around Hoshikawa Station has formulated a basic concept for barrier-free in the area around Hoshikawa Station in 2010, and has been working on the installation of blocks for guiding visually impaired people on roads, but gradually according to the current situation We will develop a continuous plan (spiral up).
The area around Tennocho Station is home to facilities that are often used by elderly people, disabled people, and children, such as the Magaya District Center, Hodogaya Ward Holiday Emergency clinics, Iwama Citizen Plaza and Seibu Youth Plaza Happy Square. There are also commercial facilities.
Hodogaya Station has the largest number of passengers at the station in the city, and is home to cultural facilities such as Ikot House.

Details of the study

In proceeding with the study of the basic concept of barrier-free, the Yokohama City Barrier-Free Study Council Hodogaya Ward Subcommittee was established, consisting of local residents such as academics, the elderly, disabled people, related businesses, and administrative organizations. We proceeded with the study.

The first ward meeting [September 14, 2017]

We introduced the "Barrier-Free Law" and the "Barrier-Free Basic Concept", and exchanged opinions on the current situation around each station, life-related facilities and life-related routes. .

Recruitment of information on barrier-free [October 10, 2017-November 30, 2017]

We raised information about barrier-free around Hoshikawa Station, Tennocho Station, and Hodogaya Station. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Town walk inspection and workshop

We arranged the results of "recruitment of information about barrier-free" and "town walk inspection, workshop" and examined countermeasures for issues in the district.

The 3rd Ward Meeting [November 29, 2018]

About measures to cope with problem of district, we coordinated with company and proposed basic design draft based on the result.
