Tsurumi Station Area Traffic Barrier-Free Basic Concept
Last Updated June 20, 2024
In Yokohama City, the target area of the basic concept based on the "Law Concerning the Promotion of Smooth Movement Using Public Transport for the Elderly and the Disabled" [commonly known as the Traffic Barrier-Free Law], which was enforced in 2000 (Priority Maintenance Area), four districts (Kannai, Tsurumi, Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama stations) were selected in advance, and the elderly and users, users, including the government, users and related businesses, including the disabled, and related businesses were examined.
On August 6, 2004, we devised a basic design in both the Kannai Station area and the Tsurumi Station area as the first traffic barrier-free basic design in Motoichi.

About the area around Tsurumi Station
The area around Tsurumi Station and Keikyu Tsurumi Station is the subcenter of Yokohama City, located in the center of Tsurumi Ward, and is home to business, commerce, public facilities, welfare and medical facilities.
Details of the study
In promoting the development of the basic design, we will set up the "Yokohama City Traffic Barrier-Free Special Committee" to have the basic design examined from a city-wide perspective, and conduct a specific study of the basic design for each target district. In order to do so, we set up the "Tsurumi District Subcommittee" and proceeded with the study.
