About tuberculosis

Last update date April 11, 2024

Tuberculosis is not a past disease.
Even today, 11,519 people (2021) are newly diagnosed with tuberculosis annually nationwide.
Recently, tuberculosis among relatively young people and the elderly has also increased.
Tuberculosis is a disease that can be cured if you take medicine properly.
Have a chest x-ray once a year, and consult a medical institution as soon as possible if you have any symptoms.

  • If symptoms such as coughing, low-grade fever, or sputum persist for more than 2 weeks, consult a medical institution.
  • Take a medical examination (chest x-ray examination) once a year.
※In particular, those aged 65 and over are more likely to develop tuberculosis due to a decline in physical strength.
      Be sure to take it.
