Mosquito monitoring surveys
Last Updated May 14, 2019
Since FY2011, we have been conducting regular mosquito monitoring surveys on mosquito-borne infectious diseases, including dengue fever and chikungunya fever.
From 2015, implementation locations have been added from the viewpoints of "many users", "many many tourists", and "many events are held".
With the holding of the Rugby World Cup 2019TM and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we expanded our research locations around both competition venues around both competition venues.
The virus has never been detected in mosquitoes investigated.
Mosquito monitoring surveys
- Location: 25 parks and harbor districts in the city (19 places until 2014)
- Date of implementation: June to October (in FY2019, six locations started in May)
- Details of the survey: Mosquito habitats (types, density, etc.) and the status of viral viruses (dengue virus, etc.) that cause major mosquito-borne infections
