Mosquito Monitoring Survey
Last Updated May 14, 2019
Since fiscal 2011, we have been conducting regular mosquito monitoring surveys on mosquito-borne infections, including dengue fever and chikungunya fever.
From 2015, we have added implementation locations from the viewpoints of "many users", "many tourists visit", and "many events are held".
In fiscal 2019, with the holding of the Rugby World Cup 2019 TM and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we expanded the number of research locations around both competition venues.
The virus has never been detected in mosquitoes we have investigated so far.
Mosquito Monitoring Survey
- Implementation site: 25 parks and harbor districts in the city (19 places until 2014)
- Date of implementation: June to October (6 locations started in May in FY2019)
- Survey contents: Mosquito habitat status (types and density of inhabiting, etc.) and possession status of viruses that cause major mosquito-borne infections (dengue virus, etc.)
- List of survey locations for FY2019 (PDF: 52KB)
