The city of Yokohama is working to contribute to improving productivity, solving social issues, and creating new business models by utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as IoT and AI, by supporting demonstration experiments through I thinking Yokohama.
In fiscal 2021, "ITOP Yokohama" supported a demonstration experiment of longitudinal flight of Tokyo Bay using an unmanned aerial vehicle using a kite plane by the Advanced Robotics Foundation, which was held between Yokohama and Chiba (approximately 50 km).
The World Drone Competition (WDC), which utilizes the knowledge of longitudinal flight of Tokyo Bay, will be held by the Advanced Robotics Foundation.
With Hakkeijima (Kanazawa Ward) taking off and landing sites, WDC competes on emergency missions such as flight technology and survivors rescue in anticipation of a disaster by taking off and landing between Hakkeijima and Futtsu Minato Park (Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture).
The WDC venue and flight will also be broadcast simultaneously at the venue of the 22nd International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC 2023), which will be held in Japan for the first time in 42 years in Pacifico-yokohama.
