I. TOP Yokohama Lab “Smart Agriculture in Urban Areas” Demonstration experiment started on farmland in the city

As part of the initiative of the ITOP Yokohama Lab, Yokohama City recruited new products and services from January to February 2023 to provide labor-saving agricultural work in urban agriculture, support for crop cultivation, and improvement of the farming environment.
At two farmland sites in Yokohama, we have started a demonstration experiment of a future farm using automatic driving robots and VR, and a remote monitoring of bird and animal capture using a trap with a system installed.
Of these, efforts for future farms using automatic driving robots and VR will be implemented using farmland with the cooperation of JA Yokohama. JA Yokohama is supporting technological development in the fields of smart agriculture and agritech, promoting initiatives to increase the value of Yokohama agriculture by improving productivity and production quality, and this demonstration experiment provided field as part of this support.
For other selected projects, demonstration tests will be started as soon as they are coordinated and prepared for implementation.
