Nishi fire brigade, Yokohama City is recruiting fire brigade members from time to time! You can join if you are 18 years of age or older and live, work, or attend school in Nishi Ward. 　The Nishi fire brigade was established as the Tobe Fire Department in 1912 with the promulgation of the Fire Department in 1939. After the Fire Department was integrated into the Fire Department in 1947, the Yokohama City fire brigade Ordinance was promulgated, and 13 fire brigade including Nishi fire brigade was born.

　The recruitment of female fire brigade employees began in fiscal 1997, and about 96 female fire brigade employees are currently engaged in activities that are integrated into the community, such as disaster prevention activities and the spread of first aid.

　Currently (2024) consists of 230 members from one headquarters and three branches, each with 14 equipment storage areas in the ward, 10 loading vehicles, portable pumps, rescue equipment and emergency equipment, etc. We conduct training and inspections in preparation for fire-fighting activities and large-scale disasters such as earthquakes, storms and floods, and provide disaster prevention guidance atNishi Wardfire extinguisher.

　On Friday, January 5, 2024, we held the "2024 Nishi Ward Fire Fighting First Ceremony" at public hall Nishi Ward!
At the ceremony, awards were given to local communities and offices who have made significant contributions to fire prevention and disaster prevention, as well as fire brigade members who have made significant contributions to daily activities in fire brigade. At the conclusion of the ceremony, "Oath of Disaster Prevention" was powerfully performed by Mr. Iimura and Chief Wachi.

　We participated in "Yokohama firefighting first ceremony 2024" held in Aka Renga Soko event square on Sunday, January 7, 2024!
We exhibited loading cars at fire brigade Square, experienced riding, and promoted fire brigade.

　Nishi Ward has seven Yokohama-shi fire brigade Cooperation Offices, which are recognized by offices and organizations that are actively involved in fire brigade activities, to protect local safety and security every day.

Eight new people joined Nishi fire brigade!
fire brigade began his career as a fire brigade member after learning the basics of classroom lectures, training ceremonies, rope tying and hose extension.

In Fire Academy, Yokohama, we conducted water discharge training for general housing. Each time the training was repeated, it became a safe, reliable and quick activity, and it was a training that showed daily results.

About 96 female fire brigade members are active in Nishi fire brigade.
Various opinions popped out across the boundaries of the branch, further deepening the exchange between female members.

In cooperation with police officers and fire brigades, we conducted response training assuming a flood accident. .
I was able to work safely and reliably while talking to each other.
