I think some people have a strict and firm image of fire brigade. I also wanted you to know that Kanagawa fire brigade in Yokohama has a bright and humorous side.

I want you to know Kanagawa fire brigade

From the leader to everyone

"I am the leader."

It is Shigeru Fukuda, who became the 11th Kanagawa fire brigade chief on April 1, 2024.
 Thank you very much.
As a cornerstone of regional disaster prevention, fire brigade works every day to protect the safe and secure lives of residents under the spirit of local love of protecting their own towns.
In order to create a powerful fire brigade, we need the help of local residents, students who go to school, and those who work in local companies, regardless of gender, age or occupation.
 Please join Kanagawa fire brigade.
Ladies and gentlemen, let's protect Kanagawa Ward with us.
 Thank you very much.

What is fire brigade?

He is a part-time public servant who conducts disaster activities and fire prevention awareness activities utilizing his experience in the community while working and studying. In recent years, women have also been actively participating, and 105 female members of Kanagawa Sho are active.

Main activities

In the event of a disaster such as a fire, typhoon, or earthquake, we will conduct fire fighting, evacuation guidance, and rescue lives as the key to regional disaster prevention. In normal times, we go to local events, companies and schools, etc., and provide disaster prevention guidance such as handling fire extinguishers and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In addition, we also conduct various training related to activities, and acquire qualifications related to lifesaving such as ordinary lifesaving training, advanced lifesaving training, first aid instructors, and other qualifications such as training instructors to guide other fire brigade employees to various types of training. Activities are not compulsory, but you can work as long as you do not interfere with your work or business.

To become a member of Kanagawa fire brigade

You must be between the ages of 18 and 70 and live, work or attend school in Kanagawa Ward. It doesn't matter what gender or occupation.

#We are also a member of Kanagawa fire brigade

Please tell me

I was originally interested, but I didn't get courage due to concerns about balancing work, but I decided to come in when the fire department came to work and explained in detail.

I'm glad I got it.

I was in my mind about fire extinguishing and lifesaving activities, but it was difficult to actually do it and I couldn't move much in workplace training. However, by joining the team, I was able to learn various knowledge not only in my head but also in my body through training, and I was confident that I could move immediately when something happened around me.

Please tell me

Because you don't usually exercise, you can sweat through training and make it a good exercise! Not only that, but it's very fun to be able to talk to people of various occupations and to know knowledge that I didn't know before!

How's it?

The training day is often on Saturdays and Sundays, so you can work without any problems. Also, I'm very grateful because I can give priority to my private schedule, so I can work without difficulty and participate like an extension of my lessons.

I'm getting lost.

Not only can you learn about life-threatening things such as responding to a disaster, but you can also interact with various people and receive rewards for activities, so you will improve your own skills. It is really recommended especially for those who like exercise!

If you want to know more details, please.
