The 22 simultaneous water discharge by 11 teams of Sakae fire brigade is a masterpiece. Everyone, please enjoy it.

We carried out Yokohama-shi firefighting maneuver technical training meeting! Using a small pump, the safety, reliability, and speed from pumping up water from a simple water tank to discharge water.
I competed in Yokohama 20 fire brigade.
Training started in April, and we have been working for about seven months until the day of the firefighting operation technical training session.
Unfortunately, it did not win the top prize, but through this operation training session, we were able to start the pump, extend the hose, and refine the series of actions that drain water.
We will continue our training so that we can quickly extinguish the fire in the event of a fire in Sakae Ward!

In addition to renewing our determination to realize a safe and secure city in Sakae Ward, we held the first firefighting ceremony in Sakae Ward with the aim of further expanding the circle of disaster prevention in the region.
Using eight small pumps and dyna nozzles, we carried out a masterpiece simultaneous water discharge!
Through such events, I hope that it will promote the appeal of fire brigade and enhance disaster prevention throughout the Sakae Ward region.
Through various trainings and events this year, we will continue to work to create a safe and secure city in Sakae Ward!

Those who meet the following conditions can join Sakae fire brigade.

• Healthy person 18 years or older (70 years old)
• Those who fall under any of "resident," "working," or "enrollment" in Sakae Ward

Foreign nationals may join Sakae fire brigade if they meet the following conditions:

• Those who have a "Resident Card" or "Special Permanent Resident Certificate" with a validity period of 2 years or more
• Those who intend to continue fire brigade activities for more than three years
• A person who can accept that he / she cannot take a position of group leader or higher
• Those who can accept that they are unable to exercise their public power.
• Those who can communicate in Japanese

There are two ways to apply for membership.

1. Please tell him that you would like to join the fire brigade office directly. The necessary documents will be prepared at the fire department.
   You may be able to apply at the fire brigade event held in the ward.
2. Application using the application form
   Apply using the application form established by City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau. You can apply 24 hours a day.

The fire brigade chief or branch chief will have an interview. The date and place of the interview will be decided upon consultation separately.

As a result of the interview, please submit the following documents when you join.

• Foreign nationals must submit one copy of the "Resident Card" or "Special Permanent Resident Certificate" in addition to the above.
• If you live in Sakae Ward and work in Sakae Ward, please prepare either a copy of resident certificate or certificate of employment.

• After completing the procedures, we will lend you the necessary clothing for fire brigade activities. In many cases, the activity of the affiliated group is the main, so please check the contact method for each group.

In December 1947, the Fire Service Organization Law was enacted, and the Yokohama City fire brigade Ordinance was promulgated, and the police corps was reorganized into fire brigade. On March 7, 1948, with the launch of self-government firefighting, the first step in fire brigade, Yokohama City, began, and Sakae fire brigade was separated from fire brigade Tozuka on November 3, 1986.
The recruitment of female fire brigade employees began in fiscal 1998, and as of May 1, 2024, 47 female fire brigade employees are active.
In addition, 11 equipment storage areas, 11 loading vehicles, 17 portable small power pumps, and other equipment for rescue of human life are placed in the ward, and fire and disaster prevention activities throughout the ward day and night. I am.

For the purpose of "improving the penetration rate of first aid in Motoichi and aiming to improve the survival rate", fire brigade staff qualified as first aid instructors can act as instructors in various lifesaving courses.

• A person who has been working as a fire brigade member for more than a year.
• Those who have taken advanced lifesaving courses or those who are qualified as first aid spreaders
• A person who has worked as a lecturer assistant in various lifesaving courses for at least 15 hours within the last year as a fire brigade member

You can qualify by meeting the above requirements and applying.

• You can apply for the borrowing of life-saving training equipment managed by the fire brigade Section.
• If there is a shortage of instructors in lifesaving training, we can request support from the entire Sakae fire brigade.
• We call on members who want to become first aid instructors for training assistance and can cooperate in training instructors.
