A hot Karuta tournament was held in midsummer!

On Sunday, August 4th, the Nishi Ward Karuta Tournament was held at the West District Center Gymnasium to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Nishi Ward system. On the day of the event, a total of 100 people, from children to adults, participated, and as a special guest, Kazuhiko Inoue, a voice actor from Nishi Ward, came and was very exciting.
This "Nishi Ward Konjaku Karuta" is created mainly by students of the Nishi Ward Lifelong Learning Course held in fiscal 2023, using pictures of "now" and "old" from various spots in Nishi Ward as picture cards.
Nishi Ward, which celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2024, is based on the theme of "New Knowledge: Let's Create a Future by Converging History," and I think Nishi Ward Karuta has become a karuta that connects the present and the old days, just right for this theme.
In holding this tournament, many local people cooperated with the management volunteers. . Thank you very much for creating a hot summer Karuta tournament together.
