It's fun! December 22 Fifth District "Disaster Prevention and Broadcasting 2 Great Experience Bus Tour"
I enjoyed learning about disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage while having local people interact with each other.
Last Updated December 22, 2024
On Sunday, December 22, a bus tour was held around "Sona Area Tokyo" and "NHK Broadcasting Museum" hosted by the Neighborhood Association Federation of District 5, and we participated together.
In the Fifth District, we are promoting community development with the goal of "safety and security that everyone can connect on a daily basis" and "safety and security in the event of a disaster" in the Nikomachi Plan (Nishi Ward Community Welfare and Health Plan). This bus tour was specifically addressing these two goals.
On the day, a total of more than 80 people gathered and left Yokohama Station on two large buses. First, we arrived at Sona Area Tokyo, a disaster prevention experience learning facility in the Tokyo waterfront area. Through the real hands-on learning “Tokyo Direct 72h Tour” of an earthquake directly below the capital, I learned the wisdom to survive a time when there is little support after the disaster. We moved to the Imperial Palace Gaien for lunch, and after having a meal together at the rest house, we enjoyed a walk around the area. In the afternoon, we visited the NHK Broadcasting Museum, the world's first broadcasting museum in Atago, Minato-ku. I learned about the history of broadcasting while enjoying nostalgic images, and in the narrator experience, I was able to learn about the structure of the studio.
It was a day for everyone, from children to the elderly, to learn and interact with each other. On this day, we would like to work together with the ward office so that the safe and secure town development of the fifth district will proceed, making use of what we learned about disaster prevention and the connection between everyone. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the efforts of many stakeholders, including the Neighborhood Association Federation of District 5. Thank you very much for your participation.
