　"Kannai Senior Club Opening Ceremony" was held at the Volunteer Network 21 Kanagawa Conference Room on the third floor of Certe　Shopping Center, attended by Mayor Kobayashi.

　Kannai-District has not been a geriatric club for about 20 years since the old clubs disappeared, but now the Kannai Senior Club has been established as a wide-area club for the entire Kannai-District Union. This is the first time in 10 years to establish a new senior citizen club in Naka Ward.

　Mr. Niwa, Chairman of the Naka Ward Senior Citizens' Association, said, "As the number of members is decreasing year by year, I am very pleased that a new senior citizen club was established in Kannai-District with your cooperation.

　At the opening ceremony, Mr. Takemae, the Managing Director of the Federation of Yokohama City Elderly People's Clubs and Secretary-General of the Yokohama City Elderly People's Club, also attended and gave valuable talks about revitalizing the club for the aged.

　"A variety of people from Neighborhood Associations are cooperating with this Kannai Senior Club," said Tanahashi, chairman of the Kannai Senior Club. The current number of members is more than a dozen, but if you enter two or three from each Neighborhood Associations, it will quickly increase to about 30 people, so I'm looking forward to doing so."
