[11th meeting] We participated in Shinji Shimin-no-Mori's "Tando rice planting"!

At the back of Shinji Shimin-no-Mori, there is Tando field. The rice field in the back of Tando was said to have revived rice cultivation with the help of the ward office and local volunteers to preserve the landscape and ecosystem of the satoyama, when farmers were too old to cultivate. Rice planting and rice cultivation in the Tando field have been going on for 20 years while being protected by volunteers.

"Tando rice planting in Tando field" was held in which citizens participated, and I also planted rice for the first time! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be the first time in four years to be held.

The small child also participated in the rice planting with his father and mother. At first, volunteers from the "Shinji Yatoda Protection Association" will instruct you, "Let's take 5 seedlings and plant them in the sealed place," and finally enter the rice field. Participants line up in the rice fields in a row, and plant rice according to the strings set by the volunteers. As I was about to get caught in the soft rice field soil, I was absorbed in planting it, and the seedlings were neatly prepared. Looking at the rice fields that had been planted, I felt a sense of accomplishment and I was able to sweat a good thing.

It is said that we are planning to harvest rice during the autumn harvest season, so we look forward to seeing the golden rice ears with you.
