Precautions

  • During this time, the contents cannot be confirmed immediately after reception, so it will be treated as custody. After the next opening date, the staff in charge of family register will check the contents, and if there is no defect, it will be accepted as far back as the date of submission of marriage registration form will be the "Notification Date" stated in family register.
  • If there are any deficiencies in the notification form, you may be asked to come to Hours again to correct the contents of the notification. Therefore, please check with the Hours before the submission date if possible.

About the issuance of various certifications received at night, holidays, etc.

When the certificate can be issued after the notification is accepted, it depends on the type of certificate (resident certificate, Certificate of Acceptance of each certificate, family register all matters), and the location of Address at the time of notification or permanent domicile after the notification (whether it is in Yokohama or outside of Yokohama).
In addition, if a notification is made on a day with many family register notifications, such as special holidays (February 14 and July 7), it may take a few days to issue it.

Depending on the nationality of the person you are married and whether you live in Japan or your home country, you may need to submit documents such as "birth certificate" or "Application Form" in addition to "Documents or passport certifying nationality" and "certificate to contract marriage". When married overseas

In case of marriage abroad, procedures are required to record the details in family register. Please prepare the following items.

  • marriage registration form (the signature of the marriage partner and witness are not required)
  • A copy of the marriage certificate issued by the official constitution of the country where the marriage was established (certificate of marriage in a foreign manner) and a Japanese translation that clarifies the translator

Precautions

The contents of a foreign marriage certificate vary depending on the country of marriage, such as Address and the place of birth, in addition to the name and date of birth.
In Yokohama City, if the marriage certificate does not include the following, it is necessary to submit a document certifying nationality (or passport), a birth registration certificate, and a Japanese translation stating the translator.
