Notification of transfer of domicile

From March 1, 2024, it is no longer necessary to attach a family register certificate at the time of notification of family register!

The first person and spouse of family register (applicant if one of the first or spouse is foreigner or deceased)

The form can be obtained in the following way.

• It is distributed at the Family Registry Division of each ward office in the city.
• You can also use paper from other municipalities.

From March 1, 2024, it is no longer necessary to attach a family register certificate when submitting a family register notification. However, in the case of family register, which is not computerized, the attachment to family register cannot be omitted. Except for transfer of domicile in the same ward, please obtain certificate of family register at your home address as before and attach it to the notice.

Please report to one of the following ward offices (municipalities).

• Location (Address)
• Current domicile
• New permanent address

From 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
From 9:00 a.m. to noon on the 2nd and 4th Saturday
※Excludes public holidays and New Year holidays

Outside reception hours at the Family Registry Division window, such as at night or on holidays

During this time, it will be accepted at night and on holidays, but it will be treated as custody because the contents cannot be confirmed on the spot. On the next opening day, family register officials will check the contents and if there is no defect, the date of submission of the transfer of domicile notification will be the date of submission of thefamily register.

If the transfer of domicile notification requires inquiries to other municipalities or other institutions and cannot be confirmed because the contact information is closed, it will be treated as custody. The date of submission of the transfer of domicile notification will be the “Notification Date” stated in family register.
