Requests for certificate of family register (family register all matters certificate) at the counter

This is the procedure for obtaining certificate of family register (family register all matters certificate) and certificate of partial family register (family register personal certificate) at the counter. You can get it at the ward office or administrative service corner.

Billing

  • If you have permanent domicile in the city, you can request it at any ward office or administrative service corner in the city.

※partial copy of nullified family register (certificate of all matters removed) and copy of nullified family register (certificate of personal matters) cannot be requested at the administrative service corner, online, or convenience store. Please make a request at the ward office window or by mail. (For details, please refer to the page on removal and remodeling original family register.)

A person who can claim

Principal, etc.

Person (person) listed in family register name column

If you are a person listed in the same family register name field (e.g., husband and wife), you can claim it as the person.

Spouse, direct ancestry (parents, etc.) and direct ancestry (child, etc.) of the above persons

Documents (family register, etc.) that can confirm kinship with the person listed in the name column are required.
However, if you can confirm your kinship at family register in Yokohama, you do not need to bring it with you.

proxy/agent received a request from the above person, etc.

A power of attorney created by the person, etc. is required.

Third party

If a third party other than the principal is the claimant, please state the reason for the request in detail. For more information, please refer to the Ministry of Justice website (external site). If the reason for the request is not clear, we may ask you to provide materials.
If there is no justifiable reason, a certificate cannot be issued.

What you need

2. Identification documents for the person coming to the counter

  • Driver's license
  • Passport (passport)
  • My Number Card (Personal Number Card) or Basic Resident Register Card with Photo
  • Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate

4. Documents confirming authority (other than those listed in the name column of the family register to request)

  • If you cannot confirm your kinship only with family register in Yokohama City, check the family register of other municipalities where you can confirm your kinship at the counter.
  • If a third party makes a request, you need a document that confirms the authority of the claim is required. For more information, please contact the ward office Family Registry Division.

Precautions

Uncomputerized transcripts and abstracts of family register cannot be handed out on the spot outside of Hours.

450 yen per copy
※Cash or electronic money (transportation, WAON, Rakuten Edy, nanaco) can be used to pay the fee.
