The cost of giving birth is significantly reduced!

For those who gave birth on or after April 1, 2024, in addition to the lump-sum lump-sum payment, Yokohama City will provide an environment where children can give birth with peace of mind by subsidizing up to 90,000 yen. Applications for this grant will begin in October 2024 (those who have given birth between April and September 2024 can also apply).

Lump-sum childcare lump-sum payment 500,000 yen plus self support 90,000 yen from Yokohama Germany

Eligible recipients

  • Those who gave birth on or after April 1, 2024 (including stillbirths and miscarriages of 85 days or more of pregnancy)
  • Those who have resident registration in Yokohama City from birth to the time of application
  • Those who have joined employee health insurance

Grant amount

Up to 90,000 yen per child who gives birth
※If an additional benefit of the lump-sum childcare lump sum is paid by the health insurance union to which the eligible person joins, the amount will be deducted from 90,000 yen and paid.

Additional benefits

Additional benefits are additional benefits that are paid independently by the health insurance union to which the eligible recipient joins, in addition to the lump-sum childcare lump sum.
For example, if an additional benefit of 20,000 yen per birth is paid by the health insurance union to which your mother joins, the additional benefit of 20,000 yen will be deducted from the Yokohama City subsidy of 90,000 yen and pay 70,000 yen.

Date of commencement of procedures

From October 2024 (planned)

Procedure Method

You can use the child care support site app that will be released in the future. Details will be announced on this page at a later date.
