Last Updated October 11, 2024

1. I go to the designated polling place to vote.

Go to your polling place listed in the "Voting Guide". (If you do not know the polling place, please contact the Election Commission of your ward.)
Small children and caregivers (attendants, nurses, etc.) can also enter the polling place.
※The "Voting Information" will be mailed in one envelope for each household. When you come to the polling place, please bring your own "voting information".

2. Check it in the list.

We issue "guidance of vote" and confirm whether it is listed in electoral list. Even if you lose or forget to bring your voting guide, we will ask you for your Address name and date of birth to see if it is registered in the electoral list. I don't need any ID.

3. You will receive a ballot.

Please receive the ballot and go to the entry place in exchange for the confirmed "voting guidance".

4. Fill out the ballot at the ballot entry point

Carefully check the candidates and political parties you want to vote on and fill out the ballot. At the entry point, the name and faction of the candidate, and in the case of proportional representative election, the name and abbreviation of the registered political party etc. (in the case of the Upper House election, the name of the registered person) are posted.
※There are two ways to vote, in addition to handwriting, in Braille, and in writing by proxy by the staff of the polling place. If you wish, please contact the polling place staff.

5. Post the ballot paper to the ballot box

6. End of voting

This is the end of the vote. Thank you very much.

About Braille voting

If you are blind, you can vote in Braille.
When voting, you will receive a Braille ballot.
Braille devices are provided at the polling place.

About proxy voting

For those who cannot write due to illness or injury, there is a "proxy voting" system in which the staff at the polling place fills out the ballot instead of the elector.
If you would like a proxy vote, please contact the polling place staff.
In proxy voting, one of the two assistants (voting place workers) designated in advance by the voting manager (chief of the polling place) is designated by the elector (or political party name) In addition, the other person will be present and vote to confirm that the candidate (or political party name) designated by the elector is correctly described.
