How to vote

1. I go to the designated polling place to vote.

Go to your polling place listed in the "Voting Guide". (If you do not know the polling place, please contact the Election Commission of your ward.)
Small children and caregivers (at attendants, nurses, etc.) can also enter the polling place.
※"Voting information" will be mailed in one envelope for each household. When you come to the polling place, please bring your own "voting guidance".


2. I'll check it on the list.

We issue "guidance of vote" and confirm whether it is listed in electoral list. Even if you lose or forget to bring your "Voting Guide", we will ask for your Address, name and date of birth to see if it is registered in the electoral list. I don't need an ID card.


3. Receive the ballot.

In exchange for the confirmed "voting guidance", please receive the ballot and head to the entry office.

People with visual impairments can vote in Braille. You will be given a braille ballot to vote. Braille devices are provided at the polling place.


4. Fill out the ballot form at the polling place

Carefully check the candidates and political parties you want to vote, and write them on the ballot. In the case of a proportional representative election, the name and abbreviation of the registered party, the name and abbreviation of the registered political party, etc. (in the case of the Upper House election, the name of the registered person) are posted.

People with physical disabilities and those who cannot read and write enough can vote on behalf of them. In proxy voting, one of the two assistants (voting place workers) designated in advance by the voting manager (chief of the polling place), one of the two assistants (voting place workers) writes the names of candidates etc. designated by the elector, One person will be present and vote.


5. Posting the ballot to the ballot box
