We will participate in the Zero Emi Charger Promotion Council for Ships in order to form carbon neutral ports at Yokohama Port.

With the aim of realizing a decarbonized society by 2050, Yokohama City is promoting initiatives for the formation of carbon neutral ports in cooperation with the government and private businesses. As one of these efforts, we are developing onshore power supply facilities to reduce carbon dioxide emitted from vessels at anchored in order to promote decarbonization at the wharf.
This time, e5 Lab Co., Ltd. and other companies and organizations have set up the “Zero Emi Charger Promotion Council for Ships (hereinafter referred to as the “Council”) with the aim of standardizing and generalizing Hokuriku Electric Power equipment for ships (hereinafter referred to as the “Council”). Yokohama City has called for observer participation from this council.
As we agreed with the efforts of the Council, such as the fact that the Council is working on collaboration in All Japan and that it is aiming to spread from international container strategic ports Keihin Port and Hanshin Port, which are international container strategic ports, to ports nationwide, Yokohama City will participate in the efforts of this Council as an observer.
Based on the knowledge of the Council, Yokohama City will work toward the formation of a carbon-neutral port at Yokohama Port.
