Yokohama Port Statistics Bulletin of 2023 has been finalized.

　As the global logistics disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic subsided and economic activity recovered, the number of containers handled in 2023 increased 1.4% year-on-year to 3.02 million units, up 1.4% year-on-year. It is the first time in five years that the number has exceeded 3 million units.
　Volume of automobile-related cargo increased 9.0% to 22.27 million tons. Of these, exports of finished vehicles increased 10.8% year-on-year to 11.16 million tons due to the easing of semiconductor shortages.
　In addition, due to the opening of new routes, the number of foreign container vessels entering the port increased 11.2% year on year to 4,679.
