In Yokohama City, where urbanization has progressed, it is difficult to create new large-scale forests, so we are promoting the formation of seaweed beds and shallow fields to expand blue carbon, which absorbs CO2 from seagrass and seaweeds such as eelgrass.
We are pleased to announce that as a new attempt, we will start a demonstration experiment to grow seaweed (wakame) using upright seawalls as a new attempt in order to take advantage of the features of Yokohama Port, which has an edge line of about 140 km in length.
