In Yokohama, where urbanization has progressed, it is difficult to create new large-scale forests, so we are promoting the formation of seaweed beds and shallow areas to expand "blue carbon" in which seaweeds such as eelgrasss and seaweeds absorb CO2.
In order to take advantage of the features of Yokohama Port, which has a waterfront line of about 140 km in length, we will start a demonstration experiment that uses upright seawall to grow seaweed (wakame) as a new attempt.
