As the spread of COVID-19 is prolonged, Yokohama Port plays an important role in supporting people's social lives as a social infrastructure indispensable for logistics functions.
The decrease in container handling at Yokohama Port in the first half of the year was only about 10% even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the automobile-related cargo, which is the main export product, decreased due to production adjustments at factories, but the import of container cargo increased due to demand for daily necessities, etc. In the future, with the revitalization of social activities, signs of recovery are expected to gradually emerge.
