Yokohama City is working to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support the revitalization of shopping districts that are the foundation of local life and support citizens' lives as the core of local communities, while preventing the spread of COVID-19 infections.
With the focus on “new lifestyle” initiatives, such as the use of electronic payments for shopping and the implementation of take-out delivery at restaurants, Rakuten Co., Ltd. and Rakuten Payment Co., Ltd. have proposed an approach to activation of shopping streets.
Yokohama City has concluded a cooperation agreement with Rakuten Co., Ltd. and Rakuten Payment Co., Ltd. on "Creating bustle of shopping streets, etc. through next-generation services utilizing IT technology". We will work together with three parties.
