In July 2020, Yokohama City was selected as a "Global Base City" as a member of the Startup Ecosystem Tokyo Consortium for the Government of Japan (Cabinet Office)'s "Strategy for Establishing World-class Startup Ecosystem Bases". This time, with the aim of creating opportunities for overseas expansion and investment opportunities, global accelerators (Techstars Central,LLC, WiL,LLC) will launch an acceleration program for startups in "Global Base City".
From Yokohama City, out of the YOXO Accelerator Program 2019 support companies, three companies that are expanding overseas were eligible.
