Support for Future Technology Development in Yokohama City

In cooperation with various companies and institutions in Japan and overseas, Yokohama City is working to develop high value-added products and services, create new businesses, and solve social issues using new technologies through open innovation.
In addition, various international events are held in Motoichi, and while there are opportunities for the future leap, such as transmitting the attractiveness of the city and revitalizing the economy, the aging of the population and the working age There are social issues such as a decline in the population and the aging of urban infrastructure, mainly in the suburbs. Under these circumstances, in order to resolve issues and issues facing the city through near-future technology and to develop and satisfy needs, we set demonstration fields and themes in advance, solicit demonstration experiment proposals, etc. We support project creation and business conversion, and work to solve social issues.

New demonstration experiment field-Solving problems in facility management-Overview of facility tour

In Yokohama City, we have set themes such as "comfortable housing," "revitalization of commercial facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic," and "smart agriculture in urban areas," and have recruited demonstration experiments using rental housing managed by Yokohama City Housing Supply Corporation, the southern Yokohama market, and farmland in Yokohama.
As part of this effort, last fiscal year under the theme of "solving problems in facility management," we held a workshop aimed at discovering the needs of the facilities side in the field of "TBS Midoriyama Studio", which has a large-scale studio facility in Yokohama City. I think that everyone who participated was able to deepen their understanding of the needs of the facility side.
This time, in recruiting demonstration experiments, Midoriyama Studio City, which is entrusted with the management of facilities, will explain the issues again and hold a facility tour to guide the actual demonstration experiment site.
We look forward to the participation of companies engaged in the development of new products and services that aim to convert facility operation and management into DX.

What Midoriyama Studio expects

In this initiative, Midoriyama Studio, the field provider, expects to digitize equipment and make it a comfortable and attractive facility for facility users and visitors by working on DX of existing equipment that can be implemented in the short term without major facility renovations.

Major facility issues and solutions

In this project, it is assumed that the main field of demonstration experiments will be the setting space for outdoor and props as the primary storage area, and a cargo handling area for separating garbage.
(The tour location is subject to change.)
We do not specify the content of the proposal or the field, but the following is an example of solutions.

1. Security

  • Review of entrance system (e.g. electronic management of entrance and exit, IC chip / QR code entry certificate)
  • Efficient monitoring of the entire site (e.g. monitoring of site boundaries using infrared rays and drones)

2. Labor saving in facility management

  • Efficiency and labor saving of cleaning (e.g. automation of cleaning robots, lunch boxes and kitchen garbage sorting work)
  • Efficiency and labor saving of transportation (e.g., self-driving vehicles for the automatic transportation of art materials)

3. Effective use of site and expansion of functions

  • Eliminate parking problems (e.g. smart parking using sensors, beacons, etc.)

4. Environment

  • Effective use of environmentally conscious measures (e.g., use of surplus heat from solar-temperature water panels in summer)
  • Reduction of energy consumption (e.g. use of EVs and PHEVs)

5. Measures against pests and pests

  • Thorough control of pests (e.g. blocking invasion with sounds and light that animals hate)
  • Prevention of intrusion and occurrence of pests (e.g. high-precision sensors that detect infiltration, AI cameras)

6. Others

  • Improvement of attractiveness of facilities (e.g. effective transmission of events and events, heat shielding, light shielding and automatic ventilation using IoT products)
