Yokohama City has been working on the ITOPI Yokohama Lab, which aims to create new projects by providing a demonstration field. We are looking for proposals for products and services that bring new value to commercial facilities and markets, such as realizing efficient facility management of commercial facilities and markets during the COVID-19 pandemic and the creation of more buzziness.

In this project, we plan to use the "Yokohama Southern Market (Business Area (commercial facilities) and logistics areas (market))" as field for demonstration experiments. We are looking forward to proposals for products and services for expanding functions and efficient facility management so that more people can come to the venue with peace of mind even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Efficiency and optimization of management and operation of commercial facilities and markets
・ Parking lot congestion on weekends has become normal, affecting road traffic around the facility.
・ The flow lines of general vehicles and logistics vehicles intersect, hindering smooth traffic.
・ We want to streamline logistics in-house, such as smooth handling of logistics vehicles.
・ The COVID-19 pandemic has hindered the transmission of information between companies and organizations within the facility.

・ We want you to enjoy shopping in the facility safely and securely even during times of congestion.
・ I want a mechanism to promote the migration between the market and commercial facilities.
・ I want to efficiently and effectively transmit information on events in the facility and stores in the facility.

Yokohama City has launched "IoT Open Innovation Partners (ITOP Yokohama)" as a place for exchange and collaboration, project promotion, and human resource development, to create business utilizing IoT and other technologies. In collaboration with various companies and organizations in Japan and overseas, ITOPI Yokohama is working to develop products and services with high value-added products and services, create new businesses, and solve social issues using new technologies.

Yokohama is facing social issues such as declining birthrate and aging population, declining working-age population, and aging urban infrastructure, mainly in suburban areas. On the other hand, various international events are held in Yokohama, and it is also a city that has opportunities for future leaps, such as disseminating the appeal of the city and revitalizing the economy. Under these circumstances, ITOPI Yokohama has established the "ITOP Yokohama Lab" as a new framework in order to solve the issues and possibilities of Yokohama through IoT and to develop and satisfy the needs through IoT and to develop and fulfill their needs through IoT.

The southern market, which opened in November 1973, has been based on the reorganization and enhancement of the market, has been utilizing the know-how of private businesses since April 2015 following the reorganization and enhancement of the market. It has been divided into a bustling area, a customer-acquiring facility based on the concept of “food”.
Along with the opening of the multi-purpose commercial facility "Branch Yokohama Southern Market" in 2019, the "Yokohama Southern Market Food Specialty Store Area (former name: Food-related Wholesale Center)" was also renewed, and it was reborn as a southern market that combines logistics and liveliness.
