Overview
Yokohama City is working on the ICTOP (I-Top) Yokohama Lab, which aims to create new projects by providing a demonstration field. Expectations and solution examples of solutions
In this project, of the railway-related facilities managed and operated by Sagami Railway Co., Ltd. (limited to Yokohama City), stations with 50,000 passengers and about 10,000 passengers will be the main demonstration field. We are looking forward to proposals for new IoT products and services that will enable mobility support at railway stations, improve staff work efficiency, quick and accurate information transmission methods in case of abnormalities, and create new value for stations.
(1) Information guidance such as railway operation status and congestion at station facilities
- Efforts to provide information smoothly and efficiently to railway users, not only during normal operation but also during abnormal times
- Example) Installation of Operation Information Display Monitors
(2) Support assistance for moving and getting on and off in station facilities
- Initiatives that lead to smooth movement within station facilities according to their physical characteristics (elderly, disabled, children, etc.)
- Introduction and installation of mobility support tools
(3) Efficiency in operation and management of station facilities
- Efforts to confirm and optimize the operation status of facilities in the station facilities, and to prevent equipment defects and defects
- Visualization of operation status and installation of equipment that detects and predict defects, etc.
(4) Further promotion of use of railways and station facilities
- Efforts to improve the comfort of transportation to destinations and railway use
- Introduction of transfer support tools, etc.
- Efforts to improve railway users' satisfaction by utilizing waiting time and gaps during boarding
- Entertainment programs that take advantage of the fact that railway is being used
- Initiatives that lead to improvement of attractiveness, convenience, and migration of station Naka facilities and commercial facilities around the station
- Effective transmission of sales and event information at each facility (mobile digital signage, etc.)
- Initiatives that lead to improvement of attractiveness as facilities that we want to visit for purposes other than railway use
- Provision of programs that lead to the creation of new attractiveness as commercial facilities, and effective utilization of vacant stores, etc.
(5) Solving Energy and Environmental Issues
- Efforts to promote resource recycling and improve the environmental performance of stations
- Introduction of equipment that reduces environmental impact
Eligibility for application
- Already participating in ITOPI Yokohama. You must apply for participation at the same time as applying.
- The ideas for products and services have been embodied, and prototypes have already been completed for immediate demonstration experiments. (After adoption, prototype development will begin, and those that require a certain period of time to prove products and services will be deemed not to be eligible for application.)
- The proposal for “I ・ TOP Yokohama Lab” is a new product / service that matches the purpose and theme, and at a railway station managed and operated by Sagami Railway Co., Ltd., a railway operator in the city, Request and plan to conduct a demonstration experiment of products and services. If you wish or do not plan a demonstration experiment on a new product or service (eg, you only want to match with Sagami Railway Co., Ltd.), you will not be eligible for application.
- If you are planning a new business targeting customers in a different field than the existing product or service that expands the functions of existing products and services, you can apply for ready-made products and services if the theme matches the new business.

What is I/TOPI Yokohama?
Yokohama City has launched "IoT Open Innovation Partners (ITOP Yokohama)" as a place for exchange and collaboration, project promotion, and human resource development, to create business utilizing IoT and other technologies. What is the I/TOPI Yokohama Lab?
Yokohama is facing social issues such as declining birthrate and aging population, declining working-age population, and aging urban infrastructure, mainly in suburban areas. On the other hand, various international events are held in Yokohama, and it is also a city that has opportunities for future leaps, such as disseminating the appeal of the city and revitalizing the economy. Under these circumstances, ITOPI Yokohama has established the "ITOP Yokohama Lab" as a new framework in order to solve the issues and possibilities of Yokohama through IoT and to develop and satisfy the needs through IoT and to develop and fulfill their needs through IoT.
