Please enjoy seasonal flowers at Centerminami Sukippu Square Flowerbed.

Exit the Municipal Subway Center Minami Station and spreads out in front of you is "Sukippu Square". Although it is a familiar place as an event venue, it has been developed as a place where you can enjoy the existing flowers in the wake of the 33rd Urban Greenery Yokohama Fair in 2017. This time, we will tell you about the flowerbed that was renewed with the construction completed in March 2019.

Due to the construction, the flowerbed has been expanded from one block to three sections, so that you can enjoy the flowers with a sense of volume. Above all, the stone masonry called "dry stone wall" gives the flower bed a three-dimensional effect and further enhances the flowers. Drystone wall is a traditional British masonry method, and Tsuzuki Ward   will be the campsite for the British Olympic team of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The construction of the dry stone wall is a construction method that requires specialized qualifications because it is piled up using the characteristics of stones without using mortar, etc., but it is constructed by a qualified landscaping company in the ward.

At present, spring flowers are over, but Kashiwaba hydrangea, which features flowers like soft serve ice cream, and Shirotaegiku with cute yellow flowers on silver leaves, are at their best. From now on, you can enjoy lilies flowers. Please take a look if you are interested.
