Notification of Membership
At the age of 75, you will automatically join the medical system for elder senior citizens. There is no procedure required to join. The health insurance card (elderly medical care insured card) will be sent from the Wide Area Union at the end of the month before the 75th birthday month. In addition, those who are receiving welfare are not insured.
If you have a family member who is transferred from the company's employee health insurance to the medical system for the elderly.
If the family is a dependent of the company's employee health insurance or the health insurance union, the family will also withdraw from the medical insurance if the insured person changes to the medical care system for the elderly.
In this case, your family will have to take out other medical insurance, such as the National Health Insurance of Yokohama. To apply for National Health Insurance, you need to apply at the ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.
Necessary items for the procedure (don't forget to submit a report)
Enrollment for persons aged 65 and over with certain disabilities
If you are 65 years old or older and have a certain disability, you can apply to the Regional Coalition, and if you are determined to be in a state of disability, you can join the medical system for elder senior citizens from the current medical insurance . "Authorization" refers to the certification of the Wide Area Union, and is different from the certification for receiving grants such as a certificate of the physically disabled.
If you join the medical system for elder senior citizens, the burden on the window at medical institutions may be changed. In addition, the premium is different from the insurance premium of the current medical insurance.

[Reference] About medical expenses subsidy for severely disabled people
For those who fall under any of the following 1 to 4, there is the medical expenses subsidy project for severely disabled people. Notification to your ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section is required, and an amount equivalent to a partial contribution will be subsidized.
- Those who have been issued a first- or second grade certificate of the physically disabled
- Those whose intelligence index is judged to be 35 or less
- Those who have been issued a 3rd grade certificate of disability and whose intelligence index is judged to be 50 or less
- Those who have been issued a first-class mentally handicapped handbook (only for outpatients only)
