Application procedure for postponement or exemption of school duty
Parents of school age elementary school studenｔ students who have Japanese nationality are obliged to enroll their children in schools stipulated in Article 1 of the School Education Law. However, according to the provisions of Article 18 of the School Education Law, if it is deemed difficult to attend school due to illness, incomplete development, or other unavoidable reasons, you may be entitled to a postponement or exemption from your duty to attend school.

１. Reasons for Eligible
（１） In the case of poor condition or incomplete development
（２） dual nationalities has a strong possibility of objective selection of foreign nationality in the future
２. Application method
（１） Illness and incomplete development
・Please send school attendance consultation application to Yokohama-shi special support education synthesis center.
Please fill in the "Consultation Prosecution" column of the application form stating that you wish to suspend school.
（２） dual nationalities
・Please consult with your ward office, Family Registry Division Registration Section.
３. Precautions
・Even if you apply, you may not be accepted.
・Please note that depending on the content of the application and the time of application, it may take a considerable period of time from application to response.
